Apply to Be an A Town Guest Artist

First Friday Guest Artist Application and Contract

Each month A Town Center features the artwork of a local artist. The artists work, then, hangs for that month, which can be seen and purchased.

Please read the below requirements and general information. Once you do so, fill out the online First Friday Application/Contract below and choose the month you would like to show your work. We will let you know if that month is already filled, and we will place you in the first available month.

You will receive an email confirmation once received. Please note that you should always receive this confirmation and if you don’t, there may have been something wrong with your submission. Please email us at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

​Once you are accepted and you know when you will present, please pay $25 for your application fee. 

REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL INFORMATION:
  • Art Options: 3-dimensional art must be shorter than 12 feet in height; up to 4 paintings on the wall; multiple photos or paintings hung on the wall in a 4 x 8 foot section; 1 booth outdoors with 10x10 tent
  • If work falls outside of the above parameters, an additional charge may occur
  • Artist to provide their own 10×10 Tent if outside
  • Artist to provide their own set up/displays for booth, including weights for tent, lights, power strip/extension cords, grid, tables, chairs, etc.
  • Sale price (or NFS) must be clearly labeled for each piece
  • Guest Artists will not be given 24/7 access, but can arrange limited special visit dates and times for private showings/tours
  • A Town Center, Inc. will try to accommodate requests, but has the right to refuse these visits based on member and board availability
  • All work must be ready to be hung or displayed with proper mounting hardware
  • A Town Center, Inc. is not reliable for storage or works damaged if artists are not there to take down their own work
  • Artists may submit multiple proposals for different works and mediums
  • Artist responsible for his/her own booth liability insurance
  • A fee of $25/month is due upon the date scheduled above upon APPROVAL

EVENT: 
The event begins at 5pm and runs until 8pm. All artists must be in place and ready to exhibit at 5pm.
TEAR-DOWN: 
Your work can remain on display throughout the month until the day before the following month’s set up date.
JURY PROCESS:
The jury consists of the board of directors and/or current artists in residence. They will review all art and fine crafts to determine who shall be accepted into the show. Criteria include mastery of medium, creativity, originality, overall effect of the artwork. The jury’s decisions are final. There will be a wait list of artists each month. Acceptance notification will be e-mailed, as well as waitlist artists.
EVENT PUBLICITY:
Publicity for the event includes flyers, electronic media, social media, and eblasts.

ARTIST RULES/SHOW POLICIES:
  • Applications will not be considered unless all information is filled in; photos of work and of the artist “headshot” and bio are submitted. All applicants upon signing and submission of the official Artist Application and Legal Agreement online form consent to be bound by these policies and will abide by them throughout the designated First Friday.
  • All artwork must be original and personally executed by the exhibiting artist. No purchased retail items such as hats or sunglasses, commercially produced kits, mass-produced items or imports. No representatives. Any artwork or items NOT approved must be removed.
  • No resellers or direct sales.
  • Exhibitors must provide all display materials, including tent and canopy. Display materials should be clean and presentable. Each canopy MUST BE secured for wind. Artists must provide the proper amount and type of weights or cannot proceed with set-up.
  • **NO ELECTRIC FANS OR HEATERS ALLOWED**
  • No music to be played in booth space without being juried and/or prior approval. No food or drinks to be sold or distributed by any other than designated food vendors. 
  • Artists may be asked to sign a “hold harmless” document when they check into show.

No refunds. There are no refunds for inclement weather or for non-compliance with event rules.  Any artists that do not comply with these rules will be asked to leave the event and may not be allowed to participate in future events.
